About Us

The Electrical Engineering department (EE) is one of the six departments at FER. It was established in 2009 to meet the need in Rabigh and its vicinities for well-trained electrical engineers capable of designing, installing, maintaining, and managing electrical systems. The idea was to produce qualified engineers in the field of electrical engineering education and research by providing them with the foundations of knowledge, skills and technology localization in order to serve for community development and meet the needs of the labor market.

Vision

The department seeks to be recognized locally, regionally and internationally as an excellent center for teaching and research within the field of Electrical Engineering.

Mission

To provide high quality programs in education, scientific research and community services in the field of Electrical Engineering.

Word of the chairman

The Electrical Engineering department would like to welcome you to its website where you can find more details about our electrical engineering programs, faculty members, their research initiatives, and the department's wide range of activities for students.

Electrical engineering is a thriving field that has helped shape the world in which we live. Since the start of the twenty-first century, the field of electrical engineering has made significant advances in a number of vital areas, including energy, health, computers, network communication, environmental monitoring, information security, and others. The Department is currently supporting the 2030 Vision addressing significant community challenges. This provides a great illustration of the effort and applicability of our research and educational initiatives. The department's faculty members are constantly working together with business, local and foreign universities, and government agencies to address research topics of crucial national interest.

Faculty members work hard to teach the fundamentals of engineering science to our students, and to educate them about cutting-edge technologies and how to use. Through collaboration with other departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Mathematics and Science Departments, numerous centers and institutes in many fields, we are better able to fulfill our missions of education and research. The Department also has great relationships with nearby businesses and industrial labs, where students can participate in collaborations.

We are always interested in and open to new chances for collaboration, so I hope you will have a look at our scientific research initiatives and accomplishments. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions
